The world looks different through the eyes of children. But how do Ahmad, Mohammad, Celine, Laila, Rama, Ahmad, Reem, Hala and Adam see the place they are living in? What can they tell us about education and their wishes and dreams? In our first film We Color our lives with education we are listening to how they see their home, the Palestinian refugee camp Shatila in Lebanon`s capital Beirut. And moreover how they perceive the educational system and what, in their eyes, should be changed.
The film was done to raise awareness about the shortcomings of the current education system and it explains why we chose our reform pedagogical approach to education, which always puts the child`s needs in the center of attention. We color our lives with education also allows an insight for those who are not familiar with Shatila Camp about where we as just.childhood work.
Last but not least, we strongly believe that the problems, needs, and shortcomings are best known and expressed by the community itself. Listening to the community will make a change easier and more sustainable.
